FELIX:
Double-Acting Investments

The largest manufacturer of office, hotel, and household furniture in Russia continues to follow a long-term development strategy: Entry into new markets, use of modern technology, development of new products, and – of course – capital investments. All of this distinguishes FELIX not only as a serious industry-leading manufacturer, but also as a successful and competent investor.
FELIX built its first factory in Podolsk in 1998. It was later moved to Moscow's Kozhukhovo District. Today, you can take a new Moscow Metro line to the now easily-reachable company manufacturing and storage facility. 20 years ago, the location was little more than a field, a high-voltage transmission line, and a strong desire to make superior furniture that was more exquisite and readily available than anything else on the market.

The idea was to build a high tech production facility with digital equipment, relevant software, modern working conditions for top specialists, and, most importantly, dignified and accessible service.

In 2018, the Moscow Government awarded FELIX a large-scale investment project, which they have started to implement; Pre-design and design works are underway. The company is planning to build a manufacturing and storage facility with a total area of over 20,000 sq. m by 2023 to further expand its manufacturing base.

FELIX's investment successes have been demonstrated in the past, such as with investments in the early 1990s, when the Podolsk factory was still in its infancy, and the acquisition of a woodworking plant in the Zharkovsky District of Tver Oblast in the early 2000s. There was also the 2018 construction and launch of yet another manufacturing site in Toropets that became one of the company's largest and most advanced factories for the manufacture of office furniture.

The results of these investments go beyond just business success
Ilya Kondratyev
Chairman of the Board, FELIX
"We invest in industrial manufacturing. Some of the furniture manufactured in Russia is supplied to CIS member states and other foreign countries, thus cultivating the positive image of Russian manufacturers. The company is a major supplier to international companies in addition to Russian state corporations, federal ministries and agencies, and social institutions in Moscow."
Investments in presenting Russia as an exporter

The company exports its products to the member states of the CIS and the European Union.

Investments in developing the public sector and creating a comfortable environment

FELIX is a diligent state contractor. Many public institutions in Moscow are equipped with their furniture. For example, two Moscow outpatient clinics–which individually receive 320 and 750 patients per shift – received new FELIX furniture at the end of 2019. The company has also completed orders for the Moscow Housing Renovation Fund, the Moscow Metro, and Sberbank, and that's just to name a few.
The Industrial Production Index for the electrical equipment manufacturing industry in Moscow was 137% for 11 months of 2019. Moscow accounts for almost 10% of the total volume of products shipped by Russian manufacturers of electrical equipment.
Investments in educating and training qualified specialists

FELIX offers mentoring programmes to attract graduates from Moscow universities and colleges. There are currently plans for students with majors relating to woodworking at the Mytishchi Branch of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University to undergo internships at FELIX manufacturing sites, during which they will write practice-oriented term papers and theses. Moreover, FELIX regularly takes part in the "Discover #Mosprom" project run by the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy. It is a unique opportunity to visit the largest industrial enterprises in the capital. The project aims to popularise factories among Moscow citizens and visitors. In addition to implementing educational and informational projects, the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow is developing mechanisms to supply additional support to local industry. According to Aleksey Artyomov, First Deputy Head of the Department, city authorities have already developed and implemented a number of measures to support industrial innovation. Another important objective of the project is to increase the number of younger personnel in the industrial workforce.

"By investing money and efforts in educational projects, the company contributes to the development of the country's talent pool," said Ilya Kondratyev with confidence. "Career guidance at schools, training for recent graduates, and internships – where students are exposed to professional competence, experience, and state-of-the-art, high-tech equipment – all of these are investments in personnel, in the future, and in national industry."
