Moscow Industry Day

On October 7, employees of enterprises in the capital of Russia celebrate their main professional holiday. It has been celebrated since 2017. It is timed to coincide with the adoption of the law "On Industrial Policy of the City of Moscow" in 2015. Thanks to this document, among other things, favorable conditions have been created in the capital for the development of both large and micro-enterprises. This is confirmed by positive statistics. In January – August 2021 alone, the volume of industrial production in Moscow exceeded the volume of the same period last year by almost a quarter!

TODAY MORE THAN 3,000 INDUSTRIAL ENTERPRISES OPERATE IN THE CAPITAL, PRODUCING A VARIETY OF PRODUCTS AND CREATING NEW TECHNOLOGIES.
THESE ENTERPRISES EMPLOY AROUND 700 THOUSAND MOSCOVITES.

Moscow industry is not only the basis of the well-being of its residents but also a provider of important goods for residents of other regions: Moscow companies produce 13.2% of the national output of non-resource-based industries. In addition, it is an object of our pride abroad. Among the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, Moscow lists first for non-resource non-energy exports. Over the past five years, its volume has doubled from 19.03 to 39.86 billion US dollars. In 2020, Russia's total export volume was 337.11 billion US dollars, with Moscow providing 40.3% of this volume (135.72 billion US dollars). In 2020, Moscow's exports grew by 43.9%.

Moscow products are exported to 175 international markets. The main importers are the United States, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Germany and China. Various Moscow goods are in demand abroad: from candy and ice-cream to medicines and engine parts, as well as high-tech products. Its exports in 2020 reached 29.92 billion US dollars.
