Lighting up the cities

Every year in Florence, on the night of September 7, the eve of the feast of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who is highly revered in Italy, the Festa della Rificolona (Feast of Lanterns) is celebrated. This unusual festivity dates back to the XVII century, when the peasants, going to the main fair of the year, hit the road before dawn to arrive in time to take a better place for trading. They lit their way with homemade lanterns – candles, shielded from the wind with paper hubcaps.

Today, manufacturers of lighting fixtures also cover the source of light, but not from the wind, and for beauty. For example, manufacturers in the capital create multi-layered light paintings, which are used both to illuminate a room and also for decoration or zoning. Panno Art is one of the leading companies in this area. The company produces multilayered 3D panels made of aluminum and glass. 30 square meters of panels are produced during one shift, which amounts to 1-1.5 thousand square meters per month. The unique luminous panels have already caused a sensation at Expo 2021 in Dubai, as there is no such technology outside of Russia.

- By the way -
The capital is the main exporter of Russian lighting equipment: it accounts for 37,6% of domestic exports. By the end of the seven months of 2021, Moscow companies exported lighting equipment totaling $53,58 million, which is 84% more than in the same period in 2020 and 89,4% more than in January–July 2019.

The Moscow companies continuously offer consumers advanced, unconventional solutions. For example, the company Lighting Technologies, which is one of Russia's leading manufacturers and suppliers of lighting solutions, has developed the SMART–lightings and smart light. This technology allows people to control lighting with a mobile device, thus saving up to 70% of electricity. Another know-how is biodynamic lighting, which adjusts to human biorhythms and is as similar to natural light as possible. Air disinfection units are designed to fight viruses with 99% efficiency.

The company actively supports the environmental agenda and offers various solutions to combat light pollution in cities, which negatively affects biorhythms, – such as programmable power supplies, customizable user interfaces, "teachable" control and energy management algorithms and many others.

The young team of Projektor pays significant attention to import substitution and production of lighting fixtures similar to their foreign counterparts. The company produces lighting fixtures for architectural illumination of facades, landscape and interior lighting.  Illumination of the Kalibr business center, which comprises of a business center, a technology park, a co-working room and a fitness center is an example of one of Projektor's initiatives. Specifically for Kalibr, Projektor's designers and engineers created more than 20 types of lighting fixtures from scratch, some of which are equipped with a microprismatic diffuser to emit soft, comfortable light.
