Since spring 2020, the number of coronavirus tests in Russia has increased 30-fold. And PCR test producers were chiefly responsible for this. Sigma Polis, one of the test producers, is a new resident of SEZ Technopolis Moscow.

Almost 200 companies have placed modern high-tech production facilities at five sites of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone and created more than 13,500 jobs. Fifteen enterprises have joined the cluster of the Technopolis Moscow residentsover the last year, with over 1,500 employees to be hired. Five companies launched their production capacities on the premises of Alabushevo, a Zelenograd-based site, and the rest chose to localize in Pechatniki.

In 1947 there was a vocational training competition in Spain. The expectations were rather high: it was supposed to promote blue-collar jobs and to contribute to the system of vocational education. The results were fantastic: the idea was quickly adopted by the other countries and today the WorldSkills movement has taken over the world.

Today, the center of Moscow is not primarily associated with industry, but its history is closely linked to it. In the 17th century, artisans and craftsmen lived around the Kremlin. Many streets were later named after such craft villages, such as Kalashnaya or Kozhevnichnaya.

At one time, Moscow was where all the major civil and military aircraft were assembled. Today, most of the production facilities are distributed across the regions, however, "the brains" of aviation engineering remain in moscow. Research, development and testing centers are clustered in the capital, where Moscow professionals design aircraft that will then be assembled in plants throughout Russia. Generally, these centers can be found in the northern part of the city.

In the beginning of 19th century, the Southern Orkug became an industrial periphery of Moscow with plenty of private plants and factories such as glue, soap, leather production, wallpaper, carding, wool weaving and fabric printing factories, and more.

Industrialists settled in the east of Moscow since old times. For example, the Poteshny falconry yard, where falcons and gyrfalcons were kept for the tsar's hunting, was founded in the Sokolinaya Gora area. A little later, merchants' estates and factories appeared there. By the middle of the 19th century, there were several enterprises in this area: weaving and whitewashing factories, a lamp oil factory, a dye and polish factory, a tin factory, and brick factory.

YuVAO is the largest industrial Moscow district. It all started in the Middle Ages, when Moscow was built of wood and fire-prone industries – from blacksmithing to pottery – were located on theleeward side of the city, on the southeastern outskirts. Many generations adhered to this tradition, placing enterprises here.
