The light industry is often associated with fashion, home and coziness, yet the sector has over 20 branches manufacturing goods for construction, healthcare, car and aircraft industries, agriculture and defense.

In Moscow, the job creation stimulus program (JCP) is gaining momentum. Seventeen agreements have already been signed with investors. Developers are planning to build projects with a total area of more than 1 million square meters, such as schools, kindergartens, industrial parks, shopping and business centers, industrial complexes. A total amount of 83.4 billion roubles will be invested in these projects. Developers will be able to get 38 billion roubles in benefits from Moscow authorities.

In 2021, the capital entered into a record number of concession agreements, which develop urban infrastructure at the expense of business. Four concessions with a total investment of about 40 billion roubles were signed.

According to updated Rosstat data published in early March last year, the amount of investment in fixed assets in Moscow in 2020 was revised upward - from 3.57 trillion to 3.84 trillion roubles. And the increase for 2019 was 9.5% instead of 1.7%.

Moscow authorities signed 52 life cycle contracts (LCC) for acquisition of urban electric buses and up-to-date medical equipment. The total sum of the contracts came to 64.2 billion roubles.

Nearly 4,000 jobs will be created due to concession agreements signed in Moscow: over 3,000 employees will be hired during construction works within several projects, and when the works are over, nearly 700 people of many different professions will land jobs there.

Over the decade, the total length of Moscow roads has grown by 17% and reached 7,000 km.
