SERVIER RUS: THE YEAR 2020 CONFIRMED THE CORRECTNESS OF THE CHOSEN DIGITALIZATION STRATEGY

The Servier RUS plant in Moscow did not stop its operation during the pandemic, it undertook all necessary preventive measures and ensured an uninterrupted supply of drug throughout Russia and to the EAEU countries as well. The industrial complex status gave the Servier RUS plant an opportunity to run a systematic dialogue with the Moscow Government and to receive comprehensive support on a wide range of issues.

In the summer of 2020, Servier announced the launch of a labeling system at its plant in Moscow. The first batch of serialized drugs was successfully shipped to one of the distribution partners in June. It is worth noting that Servier was one of the first companies started working on the pilot project back in 2017. Since July 1, 2020, the plant manufactures 100% of labelled products for the Russian market.

The renewed microbiological laboratory of the Servier RUS pharmaceutical plant received a license to conduct microbiological tests in July as well. This is the result of a three-year large-scale reconstruction of the plant laboratories, in which specialists from the quality management service and other departments were involved. Microbiological testing of finished products, raw materials and monitoring of clean rooms (air, working surfaces, equipment, water) are now possible at the plant. This reduces the time for analysis, and therefore the approval time for finished products, which allows a faster release of drugs to the market.

The challenging year 2020 has confirmed the correctness of the chosen digitalization strategy: automation continues at the Servier production complex in Moscow, a system for monitoring production lines is being implemented and improved, and a special priority is being given to the introduction of cloud technology and electronic workflow.

IZVARINO PHARMA: R&D INNOVATIONS

The main task in the first half of 2020 for Izvarino Pharma was to ensure uninterrupted production of strategically important drugs. The task under high alert conditions was not an easy one. But the company was able to very quickly develop and implement measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the company. A new complex consisting of R&D laboratories and pilot production facility with state-of-the-art technological capabilities was put into operation this year The center focuses on the development of innovative dosage forms that increase the bioavailability of active ingredients and/or combine several active ingredients in one form. One of these drugs that entered the market this year is Lopirita®, which is widely used for treating HIV-infected patients.

The modern transnational pharmaceutical market requires not only to meet global standards, but also to provide the consumer with more effective and easy-to-use drugs. This is especially true now. Izvarino Pharma achieved a number of important results this year.

The Innovative R&D center is also developing new molecules. The joint activities with Moscow State University resulted in the development of targeted drugs (protected by three Russian patents and international patent applications) for the treatment/diagnostics of castrate-resistant prostate cancer, which demonstrated the in vivo safety and efficacy.
50+ DRUG NAMES (12 MILLION PACKAGED) WERE PRODUCED AT IVARINO PHARMA PRODUCTION SITES IN 2020

ECOPOLIS: SUCCESS IS IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT RELIABLE PARTNERS

2020 is the first year, when the factories Ecotechprom - where equipment is initially separated into fractions - and Ecoplast - where recycled ABS, PS, PP plastic granules are produced from plastic equipment parts - started their full opertion.

In 2020, the Ecopolis Corporation:

  • launched joint projects on household appliance collection and recycling with holodilnik.ru and PIK-Comfort;
  • started cooperating with the Moscow Credit Bank for the environmental friendly recycling of ATMs and electronic equipment;
  • supported the environmental initiative of the Tele2 mobile operator to collect old phones for recycling.

Thus, Ecopolis made together with its partners a big step to develop an infrastructure for collecting and recycling electronic wastes.

The corporation used the emergency suspension of factories operation as rationally as possible. For example, production processes were upgraded at the plant for producing recycled ABS, PS, PP plastic pellets located in the Technopolis Moscow SEZ, which allowed to bring the quality of products to a new level.
2,000 TONS OF ELECTRONIC WASTES PER MONTH - THE FIGURE WAS ACHIEVED BY ECOTECHPROM, WHICH IS AN EXCELLENT RESULT FOR THE NEW INDUSTRY EVEN UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS, LET ALONE IN A PANDEMIC
Sergei Pyatakov
Senior Manager, Dairy Production, PepsiCo Russia
"2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and our company as well. Due to the pandemic restrictions, we had to quickly re-design processes to work in the "new reality". Our Moscow facilities faced the challenge of ensuring a continuous production process in order to supply our customers and consumers with dairy products and baby food on time and in the required volume. Indeed, there was even a higher demand for traditional dairy products during the lockdown. The Lianozovo and Tsaritsyno dairy plants which are part of the Moscow industrial complex are highly automated and digitalized, that's why the production process does not require a large number of employees. This ensured a safe working environment through distancing and an uninterrupted production during the pandemic. The smart glasses technology for equipment remote control enabled us to continue with the previously initiated projects on extending the production and installing lines for the production of new products. Whatever challenges we face this year, we are mindful of the consumers and put at the center of our interests - we produce for them tasty, healthy and also new products!"
Dennis Muravyov
CEO, GoodWAN
"Russian microelectronics and radio products assembly plants are largely dependent on component supplies from abroad. Thus, it was not an easy year for us, because first the border with China got closed for a long time, then the ones with the EU countries. Despite the quarantine, we managed to do a lot this year. We developed 5 new devices, made several new inventions and received 3 patents. The pilot projects conducted in Moscow for government and commercial organizations enriched our experience, which we used to refine our products."
50+ SETTLEMENTS WERE INCLUDED IN THE GOODWAN NETWORK COVERAGE IN 2020

Pavel Moryakov
CEO, Moskabelmet Group
"The year 2020 and the market situation faced not only by our plant and other manufacturers, but also by entire countries, is among other things a challenge, a moment when you accumulate all your resources to achieve maximum results. It's certainly a risk.

Having celebrated our anniversary at a difficult time for everyone, we continue to move in the direction we had set ourselves five years ago. We started active work on renewing processes, equipment and approaches to production of innovative products - we embarked on the path of production automation and digitalization. And it yielded great results. Over the five years, our annual average indicators grew significantly: revenue - by 19%, net profit - by 26%, return on assets - by 23%, return on equity - by 24%. The labor productivity also increased by 31%: our companies took the first two places in their category of the Labor Productivity: Industry Leaders of Russia award for the second consecutive year.

Our immediate plans are to enter the Technology Bank and to introduce our technologies at other industrial plants, what should help to increase profits, output efficiency and labor productivity".
